ORLANDO, Florida: The Walt Disney Company say that all of its on-site salaried and non-union hourly employees in the United States must be vaccinated, as the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus is causing a resurgence in cases.

"Employees who are unvaccinated and working on-site will have 60 days from today to complete their protocols. Any employees still working from home will require proof of vaccination prior to returning, with certain limited exceptions," Disney announced.

All newly hired employees must also be fully vaccinated before starting their employment, it added.

Disney's announcement comes after major tech companies, including Google, Uber, and Facebook, stated earlier this week that all U.S. employees must be vaccinated before returning to their offices.

Health authorities, on Tuesday, said Americans who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 should again wear face masks in indoor public spaces in regions where COVID-19 is again spreading rapidly.
