Cape Town - Absa Premiership newcomers Stellenbosch FC have signed former AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates defender Marc Van Heerden.
Van Heerden was previously with AmaZulu where he made 20 appearances in all competitions though he departed the club at the end of 2018/19.
Nonetheless, he will continue his playing career with Stellies under the leadership of coach Steve Barker.
Prior to his move to Usuthu, the 31-year-old spent 18 unsuccessful months with Pirates where he struggled to break into the side.
Nonetheless, Barker has brought in the defender in order to bring some experience into the ranks for their first campaign in the Absa Premiership.
Other new additions to the squad include Waseem Isaacs and Zimo Brenner from Ubuntu Cape Town, Dillan Solomons from Royal Eagles, Boy de Jong from Anderlecht in Belgium and Tshireletso Motsogi from Wits University.
Stellies first league game of the 2019/20 season is against Chippa United on Saturday, August 3.
